Fleet Training

Behind the wheel training:

The behind the wheel driving courses are given our dual controlled cars. This is an individual course and the employee receives one-on-one training with the instructor.

The lessons are divided into six lesson topics.

The topics are:

  1. Residential Driving
  2. Parking and Backing
  3. City Driving
  4. Freeway Driving
  5. Country Driving
  6. Review Driving

The Number #1 cause of minor work-related accidents is parking and backing. Your organization may wish to focus more intensely on this area of driving. ODTI offers a one hour behind the wheel course devoted solely to parking and backing and is especially useful for employees who drive trucks and utility vans. Our Reference Point System, adapted from the Connecticut State Police, gives the driver a systematic method for safe vehicle placement and eliminates blind spot hazards. Using the Reference Point System, drivers can parallel park with ease and maneuver larger vehicles in and out of tight spaces with confidence.

Again, you may choose to offer your employees both behind the wheel and classroom training, classroom only, or behind the wheel only. This program can be tailored to your individual organization’s needs.

Private companies and government agencies report a 30% to 70% reduction in preventable accidents after implementing a mandatory driver training program for all their employees who drive on the job (National Safety Council statistic). Our number one goal is to produce drivers who “Drive to Survive”; people who are safe, high quality, defensive drivers who remain accident-free. Just remember: The cost of this course is less than the cost of minor fender-bender!
