High School Programs

Classroom training:

Textbooks and all related classroom material are provided for the students. We use the 10th edition of Drive Right, a standard high school text approved by the Department of Transportation. In addition, we use the Oregon Driver’s Manual and Your Car is a Monster. We conduct a mandatory parent meeting to address parent’s concerns and show them how to be involved with their teens driver education program and to cover policies and curriculum. We provide a parent pack to guide parents through the program.

We supplement the textbooks with guest speakers, hands on activities and videos shown in class provided by the Department of Transportation and other various national and state organizations that are involved in traffic safety.

We give a total of 5 exams and a final exam to assess the students knowledge. Students will also participate in various activities and present a final project related to traffic safety.

Grades are Pass/Fail, based on the student attending the required 30 hours of class and achieving a minimum of 75% on the tests and activity sheets. Students must demonstrate classroom participation.
