| High School Programs Teen programs are available year round. Classes meet 4 times a year, in September, January, April, and in the summer depending on the location. During the school year classes are held twice a week (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday) and each classroom session is 2- hours long. During the summer, classes are held 4 days a week for 2 1/2- hours a day. Saturday classes meet for three hours a week. Students meet 6 additional times to do the behind the wheel and in car observation. Driving is scheduled outside of class dates and time and will go beyond the last class session. The course consists of the following:
There is a mandatory parent meeting held the first day of class. The meeting is attended by both the parent, legal guardian, or supervising adult and the student. The meeting is held for the full 2 hours and covers policies, procedures, curriculum and questions regarding the program. For a list of policies and fees please refer to the Policy and Fee page. Following the guidelines set forth in the publication Traffic Safety Education, Oregon Driver Training Institute provides a course in Driver Education that meets all requirements of the Oregon Department of Transportation (OAR 737-15-0010 through OAR 737-15-0100). We also comply with ORS 336.790 through 336.815.
